Guzzling some alcohol and then going for a drive is requisite heady behavior if you're living in the 1920s...but is not otherwise recommended.


(Before about the 1940's, DUI laws were pretty loosely defined and loosely enforced in the US, and up until about the 70's and 80's, it still really wasn't taken as seriously as it is today.  Even during the Prohibition years it seems to have been regarded as more of a faux pas than a potential felony.
Anyway, that's neither here nor there - just more evidence that the good old days were plenty horrifying.)
